Trooper Tanhak was a background character who appeared in the short story That Hideous Strength, which was later incorporated into the novel Ghostmaker.

A Tanith-born man, nothing is known of Tanhak's life before joining the Imperial Guard.
History[]
Tanhak was one of the seventy Tanith troopers chosen to escort an emergency aid convoy travelling from Aurelian Hive to Calphernia Station on the recently-liberated world of Caligula. He drove one of the outrider halftrack bikes with Trooper Grummed and was killed when the supply train was ambushed and their vehicle destroyed by an enemy missile.
