Over the course of their existence, the Tanith have undergone a large number of internal promotions due to their lack of replacements and reinforcements. These vary from NCOs being moved up to officers to basic troopers being given command roles, usually as ways over filling in gaps left by fallen comrades. As it stands, the current available ranks are:
- Trooper
- Corporal
- Sergeant
- Captain
- Major
The Tanith 1st has at no point held the rank of Lieutenant, normally reserved for junior officers with Platoon command. As a result, many of the platoons in the regiment both in the original organisation and in the new Company structure have Sergeants with platoon command. Captain is a required rank to have company command.

81st/1st Amalgamation[]
As a result of the new mix, which saw a number of command ranks needing filled to accomadate the new Company structure, numerous roles needed filled and many Tanith/Verghastite troopers were bumped up to NCO ranks, and a NCOs were moved into Captain ranks to lead Companies. All of these promotions took place at Ancreon Sextus when the regiments merged.
