Colonel Ibram Gaunt Snr. was a senior officer in the Jantine Patricians Regiment. He was the father of Ibram Gaunt jnr. Gaunt was killed while leading an elite recon strike against Orks on Kentaur, after being abandoned by his commanding officer, General Aldo Dercius. This event led to his son avenging his death by killing Dercius on Khedd 1173.
Gaunt Jnr often cites his father as being a massive influence on his life and his character, despite being very young when he died. ("First and Only, 1999")
